DELICATE DISTORTION
Poetry is a mirror which makes beautiful that which is distorted.

Distortion, of any kind, is fascinating. The alteration of reality, intriguing. The way shadows conceal parts of a subject or paint patterns across a surface. How reflections make body parts wobbly and water on a window creates a contrast between areas of clear focus and areas of obscurity. Even the camera itself offers the opportunity to transform normality. Using slow shutter speeds to create blurred abstractions and transforming the appearance of ordinary things into something different when distorted.
