Photography allows stories to be told, feelings to be understood and surroundings to be observed. It encourages exploration; an opportunity to look deeper into ourselves and the world in which we live. Photography has the power to elevate the mundane and highlight the ordinary. It allows us to see things differently.

Based in and around Stroud, Gloucestershire, I have been exploring with photography for many years. Creating images with a variety of equipment from medium and large format film cameras to digital, panoramic, Polaroid, Instax and iPhones - whatever suits the project (or whatever I have with me at the time!).

Some projects begin with an idea, sparked by something inspiring, with others the idea comes from seeing the links between seemingly separate images. Spreading printed photographs across the floor and finding the threads that emerge. I move between observational photography, abstraction and using the camera to bend the way we naturally see.

Photography, for me, is an opportunity to understand and explore my world. To have control in a way that allows me to crop the world into what I want to see. Sometimes photography provides answers, sometimes it poses questions. But it always remains compelling.
